The GBIF Secretariat is organizing a capacity enhancement workshop on biodiversity data mobilization as part of the BID programme for representatives of projects selected under the BID Pacific call for proposals and relevant Samoan and regional partners. The workshop is hosted by SPREP in Apia, Samoa, 20-22 April 2026.
The course begins with online preparatory activities followed by an onsite workshop and concludes with online follow-up activities. A digital certification using the Open Badges standard will be awarded to participants that successfully complete the course at either a basic or advanced level. Participants will be evaluated by trainers for their active participation during and for the quality of their exercise submissions after the workshop. It is a project milestone requirement that an individual from the project successfully completes the certification.
