    Principles of Data Quality

A guide to principles of biodiversity data quality by Arthur Chapman

The rapid increase in the exchange and availability of taxonomic and species-occurrence data has made the consideration of data quality principles an important agenda item. Users of this critically important data require details about the quality of this data, as it provides an irreplaceable baseline about biological diversity, serve as an essential resource in conservation efforts and may provide the only documented information about the occurrence of species in areas that may have undergone habitat or land-use changes.
