III Workshop on biodiversity data migration by GBIF Spain

Digitizing biodiversity data is the most costly task among the processes aimed to their use and analysis. However, having the data ‘in the computer’ is not enough to be fit for proper use nor management. Tasks such as internet publishing, merging databases or adapting to new management, analysis or visualization systems usually require that data are transformed in one way or another.
GBIF Spain organizes the third edition of their workshop about data transformation and migration to help data holders to deal with this work.
The tools and processes needed to transform biodiversity data will be reviewed, in particular those dealing with scientific names, geographical coordinates and dates. All this within the framework of GBIF activities and objectives.

24 people. This event is in principle addressed to biodiversity data holders from Spain. There will be a selection process on the subscription requests received (see details in the event webpage).
