Type specimens are extremely crucial for taxonomic studies as they form the backbone for species nomenclature. BNHS houses a good collection of type specimens, especially for reptiles and amphibians which is growing frequently. The dataset consists of 226 occurrence records for type specimens of various reptiles collected from India and nearby countries. Verbatim coordinates and rectified latitude and longitude is also provided wherever available.Sampling Description
