The data included in these maps has been verified by experts in the British Lichen Society. However, it is summary data and further detail and professional advice should be sought before it is used in contentious circumstances.Method steps
- The dataset has been compiled from field and herbarium records, and verified by specialist review.
Taxonomic Coverages
Geographic Coverages
The dataset covers the whole of Britain and Ireland, however surveys have been targetted on particular habitats and geographical areas at different times and the coverage is not complete. The absence of a record does not necessarily imply that the species is absent from that square.
Records are at 10km precision.
