GeoPick is a web-based companion tool that implements georeferencing recommendations outlined in Georeferencing Best Practices and enables users to follow best practices for georeferencing and align with the Darwin Core standard.
The simple, easy-to-use tool has been designed and developed by Arnald Marcer and Agustí Escobar of CREAF, Arthur D. Chapman of Australian Biodiversity Information Services, and John R. Wieczorek of VertNet and the University of California, Berkeley. GeoPick was also inspired by work done for the Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona (MCNB) and the MOBILISE Cost Action.
