Positive for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis and β - galactosidase, but negative for urease in API 20 NE. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N-acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, malic acid and trisodium citrate are utilized as sole carbon sources, but not adipic acid and phenylacetic acid.
