Internodes of branchlets terete, upper internodes short, 1-1.5 cm long, lower one longer, up to 5 cm long. LEAVES: Petiole rather thick, 5-9 cm long, sheath narrow, persistent, apex free, obtuse, somewhat below the base of blade; Blade thinly coriaceous, rather rigid, elliptic-oblong or oblong, suddenly obtuse towards the apex, apex itself rather long-cuspidate, base obtuse or rather acute, 10-17 cm long, 5-8 cm wide, 8-10 primary veins spreading at an obtuse angle, slender, somewhat more distinct than the secondary and tertiary veins. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle terete, thick 1-2 cm long. Spathe oblong measuring 8-10 cm, tube elongate, blade gaping, apex shortly acuminate, pale yellowish. Spadix sessile, cylindroid, obtuse, ca. 10 cm long, female zone almost 3 times shorter than the male zone; sterile part somewhat thickened. Pistil narrowly oblong, 4-locular, ovules usually 4-seriate.
