This document presents both the GBIF Implementation Plan for the period 2017-2021 and the GBIF Annual Work Programme 2017, both of which are based upon GBIF Strategic Plan for 2017-2021.

Each year, GBIF will review progress against these activities and available resources, including Secretariat staff, other uses of core and supplementary funding and resources committed by GBIF Participants. This information will contribute to defining an annual work programme for each following year. These annual work programmes will identify and prioritize tasks for the year's work, and the GBIF community will review and refine the Implementation Plan each year.
