Description

The UNCG Mammal Collection is an actively growing collection of mammal vouchers, of local (North Carolina) to regional (southeastern U.S.) scope. Most specimens are recent (2020 and after) and holistic in nature, with multiple parts (tissue samples, parasites) and derivative data (genetic barcodes, parasite identifications and abundances, microbiome sequences) typically associated with mammal vouchers. Holdings are strong for small mammals (rodents, shrews) from the Southern Appalachian Mountains, and for fluid-preserved specimens.
