Description

The Ministry Environment and Forestry is mandated with the Protection and conservation of the environment as well as ensuring sustainable utilization of the environmental resource base to meet the needs of both the present and future generations. The directorate of Wetlands and Biodiversity in the Ministry of Environment have the strategic objectives for protection, conservation and Management of Biodiversity. The Environmental Information Management System in the Ministry where all the Environmental data and information were kept for free access and openly for public used, this was in line with the GBIF mission to facilitate free and open access to biodiversity data worldwide.
