Description

The Department of Botany at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is an academic and research-based institution situated in the arid zone (Cholistan Desert) at the coordinates 29.3981° N, 71.6908° E. Enrolled students at post-graduate level (MS, PhD) are provided the opportunity to conduct research to explore the biodiversity and catalog the records after comprehensive surveys as part of ongoing research at the Botany department. The main objective of getting the "Department of Botany, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur registered is to serve as a data hosting center so that the cataloged plant biodiversity of the region can be made available to the world, which is still not there in any world plant database (up to now, to our knowledge).
