On 22-23 June, staff from the GBIF network join Caribbean partners and representatives from the new projects funded by the Biodiversity Information for Development programme as they take part in a two-day engagement workshop at the University of West Indies in St. Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago.
The gathering offers attendees a chance to expand on the work of the previous two days, with the BID Caribbean capacity building workshop bringing together new grantees, an international team of mentors from the GBIF network and Secretariat staff. The Twitter hashtag #GBIFBID allows those interested to follow events remotely.
The meeting agenda covers topics including:
Needs and options for organizing biodiversity information in the Caribbean
Building on existing networks, including BIOPAMA and GBIF Latin America
Regional options for online data access and portal development
Building a roadmap for improved biodiversity information in the Caribbean
Attendees also expect to view presentations on the eight projects recently funded through the BID Caribbean:
This programme is funded by the European Union.
