The GBIF Secretariat, located in Copenhagen, is looking for a Data Administrator to work in a small team responsible for GBIF data content and quality, including data publisher and user support around the GBIF data index and portal (GBIF.org). The full-time position is located in Copenhagen, and the successful candidate will be locally recruited, according to the GBIF Staff Rules.

In this varied role, the successful candidate will be tasked with managing all aspects of data processing and data content, including scheduling and troubleshooting ingestion of data, and interacting with the biological community to mobilise new data resources, while supporting data publishers and documenting data quality requirements.

The ideal candidate for the position has knowledge of relational databases and experience with data processing in large data bases. While not a requirement, knowledge of R or Python and previous experience working with data quality will be advantageous to applicants. The position brings an opportunity to work publicly on open source projects and the chance to contribute significantly to an international effort to build and run the global web platform for open biodiversity data.
