Applicants must submit concept notes by 23 February 2018, 9:00am CET / 8:00am UTC/GMT, for the first stage of the programme’s two-stage selection process. A panel will assess the submissions and invite selected applicants to present full proposals by 13 April 2018.

Following the second-stage review, funded projects will be announced by 10 May 2018, with all project activities taking place between June 2018 and June 2019.

Proposals can request up to €25,000 to support mentoring activities, regional events, GBIF advocacy actions, documentation and promotion of data use. Applicants are encouraged to explore previous CESP projects for inspiration.

Significant changes to this year's call include:

  • An increased budget limit of €25,000, responding to the growing number of regional project consortia
  • Greater flexibility to exceed the 'indicative' budget limits for individual activity types
  • The introduction of a new activity type to promote data use in relevant research and policy communities

Concept notes must use the provided template and include information on co-funding.

GBIF Secretariat staff are available to address questions related to this call and help Participants considering a proposal submission. For more information, contact us via email or telephone: +45 35 31 14 70.
