Description

Entered Jan 2013. The collections are recorded digitally in the : IrisBG database,Botanical Garden Collection Management. Hoyt Arboretum and Herbarium is integral with the Portland Parks and Recreation (PPR) system. PPR manages 11,209 acres of parks with 7,593 acres being natural areas. PPR also employs ecologists and restoration biologists. I aspire to bring to PPR, Metro, Bureau of Environmental Services, Portland State U., and general public; through Hoyt Arboretum and Herbarium, access to our living collections and herbarium to create regional research opportunities as well as achieving greater taxonomic resolution in our parks natural areas. The Herbarium is ; creating invasive species teaching voucher collection for regional institution education programs. Hoyt Arboretum research library is available to the above institutions and the public.
