Description
El departamento de Biodiversidad, Ecología y Evolución de la UCM posee una de las principales colecciones entomológicas existentes en nuestro país. Reúne cerca de 2.000.000 de ejemplares de insectos montados en seco y más de 2.000.000 de artrópodos conservados en alcohol o montados en preparaciones microscópicas. El material procede, sobre todo, de la Península Ibérica e Islas Canarias e incorpora varias colecciones históricas como la Luís Jiménez de Asúa (1889-1970), de insectos tropicales, o la colección de homópteros de Juan Gómez-Menor Ortega (1903-1983)
