Description
Herbarium Malangensis (MALG) is one of the study units in Biology Department, State University of Malang (UM), which was established in 1968 with the geographic coverage in East Java, especially Malang area such as Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, Baluran National Park, Alas Purwo National Park, Arjuna Mountain, Kawi Mountain, Panderman Mountain, and the southern coast of Malang. Herbarium Malangensis has 6901 specimens consisted of dicotyledonous plants, monocots, gymnosperms, pteridophyta, algae, bryophyta, fungi, etc. This collections are used for education and research. Herbarium Malangensis has been registered and recognized by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). That was stated in Herbariorum Indonesianum Index, published by the Research Center for Biology, LIPI.
