This workshop aims to enhance the capacity to plan and implement biodiversity data mobilization efforts effectively and according to GBIF standards. It will have a strong focus on the technical aspects of data mobilization — in particular everything related to the lifecycle: planning, capture, quality and publishing in order to increase the amount, richness and quality of the data published through the GBIF network and made available for use in scientific research and policymaking. The social aspects of the process will also be considered.
The event will have online and onsite components with a strong emphasis placed on practical exercises and group work. Upon successful evaluation and completion of the course, participants have the opportunity to receive an official certification in the form of a Mozilla Open Badge. The official language of the workshop will be English.
