Transforming Australia's biological collections to open data

ALA: Transforming Australia's biological collections to open data Add to calendar
20 February 2024
01:00 - 02:00 CET

Join the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA) for the first webinar of 2024 showcasing a selection of amazing projects from the Australian Biodiversity Data Mobilisation Program. This important initiative supports the mobilisation of Australia’s biodiversity data which may not yet be digital, making it available through the ALA, and internationally to the Global Biodiversity Information Facility. By improving digital access, the program delivers stronger research and conservation outcomes for Australia’s unique biodiversity.

In this free event, you'll hear from Queensland Museum & Gaia Resources, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and Western Australian Museum whose projects have been supported through the program. Learn about the transformative power of biodiversity data, and how previously inaccessible physical specimens in biological collections can be made available as open data.

This event will be recorded and the recording made available through the ALA blog and social channels in the week after the event.

This free event is open to anybody with an interest in Australia’s biodiversity.
