These guidelines set out the procedure recommended by the Nodes Steering Group for GBIF's regional node teams to follow when vacancies arise in the posts of Regional Representative and Deputy Regional Representative. The function of these positions, as well as the formal rules concerning eligibility and length of mandates, are described in Section III of the Terms of Reference for the GBIF Participant Node Managers Committee.
