Records added to the PRUAT and AFRC ant collection database during the FBIP-funded project entitled "Digitisation of ant collections" carried out as a collabrative project between Mark Robertson (University of Pretoria) and Peter Hawkes (AfriBugs)

Samples were obtained mainly during research projects by postgraduate students, long-term Sani Pass project, environmental impact assessment, biodiversity surveys carried out during the course of contractual work by AfriBugs and ad hoc collections by various persons in their individual capacity.

Method steps

  1. Data was obtained mainly from project-specific sample processing datasheets and specimen labels from material in the PRUANT nad AFRC ant collection, housed in the Department of Zoology and Entomolgy at University of Pretoria and AfriBug
