Description

Travancore was the first princely state to establish museum-zoo garden complex in the British India in the year 1855. The Thiruvananthapuram Natural History Museum (TNHM) is an important part of the heritage that is today housed in an independent building within the zoo-museum compound at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. There are 503 bird specimens on display arranged in 15 galleries. None of the display specimens had a tag; however each gallery has a logbook of the species as well as multiple backend registers with locations and dates which has been used to create this catalogue.
