Fungal Bioblitz in Białowieża Primeval Forest at 18th Congress of European Mycologists

Description

The dataset presents list of fungal collections gathered during the eight day inventory in Białowieża Primeval Forest during 18th Congress of European Mycologists held in Warsaw and Białowieża, from 16 to 21 September 2019. The database consists of 171 occurrences (101 collections and 70 observations), representing 142 species. Among them 6 are strictly- and 2 partially protected in Poland. Additionally, 24 species are on the Polish Red Lists and 2 are listed on the IUCN Red List. Finally, the study resulted in the discovery of 5 species new in Poland and 3 that were not previously reported from Białowieża Primeval Forest. As one of the Congress’ goals was to boost sharing data on fungal distribution via GBIF, this dataset is a pioneering fulfilment of the presented postulates.
