Description

The Nature Mates Nature Club has released a dataset entitled "Floral Diversity of the various wetlands and its associated area of Purba Medinipur, West Bengal, January 2021." The Purba Medinipur district's Kanai Chatta, Haripur, Shyam Rai, Jhaugerya, Nature Trail Park, Nijkashba, and Bajkul Forest Office are included in this dataset. Eastern coastal plains and the lower Indo-Gangetic Plain both include the Purba Medinipur district. The district's topography may be broken down into two distinct regions: the nearly flat plains on the west, east, and north, and the coastal plains on the south. Alluvium, which is made up of younger and coastal alluvial, is what generated the enormous stretch of land. The district's elevation is about 10 meters above mean sea level. Along its southern and south-eastern borders, the district has a 65.5 km long coastline. This dataset includes wetlands, coastal areas, and other types of habitats. A list of all the plants identified during a biodiversity survey carried out in January 2021 is included in the dataset. Species or genus-level identifications have been made for every species. There are 271 plant species total, with records of them in 80 different families and 36 different orders. We appreciate the opportunity to work and the support of the forest department.

Purpose

To study the floral diversity around the various bird habitats of Purba medinipur
