Description

This is a database of the Myxomycetes recorded from the Neotropical region. This large biogeographical region includes the continent of America, from Mexico to Tierra del Fuego (Argentina and Chile). The region has the greatest biodiversity in the World and includes several biodiversity hotspots. The database NEOTROPICMYXO was developed in 2015 and includes all the species of Myxomycete (Amoebozoa) recorded in the literature as well as the data from herbaria and other recognised collections. The information included, apart from the species name, is the up-to-date nomenclatural status, bibliographic and geographic information, and also substrate data and where the material is located. The database is currently a reference for the MYXOTROPIC Project.

Purpose

The database is currently a reference for the MYXOTROPIC Project.
