Two new occurrences of Anairetes alpinus are reported for the first time in the Junín region, Peru

Sampling Description

Study Extent

The study area comprised three regions of Peru, Huancavelica, Lima and Junín. The new records of Anairetes alpinus were made in Junín.

Sampling

The technique of counting by points was used, with duration of 10 minutes, each point was located at a minimum distance of 150 meters between them.

Quality Control

The recognition of the species was made based on the Book of Birds of Peru (Schulenberg et al., 2007), and it was always corroborated with the database of Avibase and Macaulay Library at the Cornell Lab.

Taxonomic Coverages

This species belongs to the order Passeriforme and to the family Tyrannidae

Geographic Coverages

The new records of Anairetes alpinus occurred in the localities of Alhuanya (Concepción) and Tasta (Satipo), which belong to the Junín region
