The fungi collection was established by Prof. Tsharna Rice (1890-1965) and has specimens of phytopathogenic fungi (mostly) from Israel and the world that were collected and the first half of the 20th century. Prof. Rice researched mainly fungi that attack plants and sea algae. Among the more common genera of fungi in the collection one can find: Puccinia, Septoria, Uromyces, Cercospora, Dothidella, Bremia, Ascidium, Ascochyta.
