During a two-week sampling campaign in Iran from April 17th to May 1th 2016, 14 species of snail-killing flies (Diptera: Sciomyzidae) were caught. Three species, Pherbellia schoenherri, P. nana and P. ventralis are mentioned for the first time from Iran.Sampling Description

New records of 12 species of Snail-killing flies (Diptera: Sciomyzidae) are given: Pherbina coryleti, Psacadina verbekei, Tetanocera hyalipennis, Ilione turcestanica, Hydromya dorsata, Sepedon sphegea, Sepedon spinipes, Coremacera catenata, Pherbellia griscescens, Pherbellia spec., Pherbellia cinerella, Pherbellia nana and Pherbellia griseola.
