The Madagascar Paleontology Project was initiated in 1993 to study the geologic and biogeographic history of Madagascar. Since then, there have been 14 highly successful expeditions to the island, uncovering thousands of Late Cretaceous fossils, most of which are now housed at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Our collections include fishes, frogs, turtles, lizards, snakes, crocodiles, birds, mammals, and dinosaurs. Today, researchers continue to study these fossils to describe and better understand the animals that were living in the Late Cretaceous of Madagascar.Taxonomic Coverages
