WRSL Lichenological Collection

Description

The database contains information about lichen collections personally gathered or received at the disposal of Professor Wiesław Fałtynowicz and Dr. Maria Kossowska, employees of the Department of Botany, Institute of Environmental Biology at the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the University of Wrocław. These collections were donated to be included in the Herbarium of the Museum of Natural History of the University of Wrocław (WRSL-F). The data cover collections originating from 26 countries, including sites located in Europe (96%), as well as in Asia, Africa, both the Americas and Oceania. The material encompasses collections gathered by more than 90 collectors. More than 80% of the collections consist of specimens gathered between 2000 and 2021, the remaining part is represented by materials collected between 1899 and 1999.
