Description

The checklist consists of species of flora of Ukraine protected according to the Appendix I of the Bern Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats (Bern Convention), 1979. In Ukraine this convention was signed on August 17th, 1998, ratified on January 5th, 1999 with subsequent entry into force on May 1st, 1999.

The Checklist covers the entire territory of Ukraine.

Sampling

Scientific names were manually extracted from the species list indicated on the web site of the Bern Convention: https://www.coe.int/en/web/conventions/full-list?module=treaty-detail&treatynum=104

Quality Control

Scientific names, including authorship, are given using GBIF species matching tool.
