Daily records of salinity and water temperature (ºC) were registered in a shallow estuarine area at Saco do Arraial embayment.Purpose
The general purpose of this data bank is to provide abiotic information on the daily variations of water temperature and salinity in the Patos Lagoon estuary.
Sampling Description
Study Extent
The temperature and salinity were registered at the same time (10 AM), in a single sampling point located at the Saco do Arraial embayment. The data were registered in a daily approach, between 1998/01/01 and 2016/12/31.Sampling
Water temperature (thermometer with precision of 0.1 ºC) and salinity (portable optic refratometer with precision of one unit) were registered in a daily approach, between 1998/01/01 and 2016/12/31. The water temperature was registered in situ, and the salinity values were measured using frozen water samples 30 days before the sampling events.Quality Control
All the samples are collected by the same person, and the quality of data are checked monthly before the uploading in the data bank.Method steps
