Open Repositories Conference

The theme of the 9th International Conference on Open Repositories will be “Towards repository ecosystems”. Examining how repositories best integrate into the holistic research flow; exploring ties between domain-specific repositories and institutional repositories; and understanding durable content strategies outside of traditional repository environments are the central themes of the conference. Proposals are welcomed on these themes, but also on the theoretical, practical, organizational or administrative topics related to digital repositories.

2013 European Regional Nodes Meeting

The annual meeting of the European GBIF Nodes will be organised by GBIF Finland in Joensuu. The meeting is by invitation only, and available for staff of all GBIF Members in Europe. In addition, any EU-funded biodiversity research projects are welcome to attend as observers.

Training Course on Ecological Niche Modelling and Integration of Large Biodiversity Databases for Macroecological Research

The course will explore the use large scale biodiversity databases for macroecological research. There is now a new emerging e-infrastructure for biodiversity which is making it possible and practical to merge data from large number of distributed sources. Instrumental to such progress is the ability to harmonise content in the integrated database, where use of scientific nomenclature is one of the hardest aspects to deal with.
