This four days workshop will focus on data quality principles and basic concepts, standards and data cleaning, data quality tools, and geographic data handling. It is organized in partnership between the GBIF Participant nodes from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Spain and Uruguay.
This workshop is organized by the Natural Sciences Institute of the Universidad Nacional in Colombia, together with the Biodiversity Information System (SIB), with support from the Alexander von Humboldt Bioiogical Resources Research Institute, the JRS Biodiversity Foundation and the Spanish GBI
Associated to the ‘Capacity Building for Conservation’ congress will be a number of free workshops about Geographic Information Systems (GIS), spatial distribution modelling and the R package, and species and ecosystem red lists, among other topics.
This was the second meeting with NL-BIF and the facilitating Dutch technical Node ETI Bioinformatics with SIB Colombia within the mentoring collaboration, and it produced very interesting results which contributed mainly to increase the visibility of the Colombian node of GBIF outside the Andea
This workshop is organised by the Iberoamerican Biodiversity Information Platform (PIIB) and plans to create regional capacity in Latin America in the area of biodiversity metadata and to reinforce collaboration.
