This information and planning workshop introduces Benin's National and Regional project funded under the "Biodiversity Information for Development (BID)" programme, and aims to set a plan to implement the project's various activities.
The concept behind this course is to take some next steps in combining the content and ideas of several previous BITC courses: data capture, data cleaning, data analysis, etc. The idea is to analyze a set of data sets in parallel as regards a series of questions of interest.
The GBIF node in Benin held its first meeting in April 2010, that resulted in the national herbarium of the country engaging to provide about 10000 records of digitalized primary data and metadata. Besides, surveys on biodiversity holders and users will be carried out until March 2011.
