Image of the Persistent Identifiers Workshop by BeBIF

Description of the event:
GBIF has identified the provision of identifiers for biodiversity objects as one of the central challenges to developing a global bioinformatics infrastructure. This workshop is an opportunity for BeBIF to dissemate the knowledge gained at similar GBIF course. It aims at increasing the knowledge of the participants about Persistent Identifiers, specifically on how to issue, use, publish and resolve these identifiers, helping them to select the most appropriate solution for their specific situation.
The workshop has a cost of 20 EUR including welcome coffee and lunch.

Number of participants and target audience:
20 people. Belgian Institutes whether being GBIF Publishers or not. This course is targeted to (i) teams leading the development of biodiversity informatics tools that can potentially issue/use/resolve Persistent Identifiers and (ii) biodiversity data managers, who are in a position to start implementing Persistent Identifiers in their work.
