Description of the event:
Providing an appropriate environment for management of biodiversity information is central to the work of the Uganda Biodiversity Information Facility (UgaBIF). One of the ways of achieving this is through the promotion and application of globally accepted data standards. The ultimate aim of this workshop is to overcome obstacles and challenges related to incompatible data systems or architecture and to facilitate inter-agency collaboration and synergy at national and regional level.

Number of participants and target audience:
30 people. Curators, Researchers, scientists, informatics specialists, database developers and organizations working with biodiversity information, with an interest in making their data available.
