
Online discussion about data publishing and fitness-for-use
Description of the event:
The GBIF Secretariat is organizing an 5-day online discussion as a follow-up from the ‘training course on biodiversity data publishing and fitness-for-use in the GBIF Network’ held in Argentina in September 2011. The participants of the event, the trainers, the GBIF Secretariat staff and any other interested parties will have the opportunity to continue the discussions started during the course about biodiversity data publishing, its planning process and data quality and fitness-for-use. Please consult the agenda of the original workshop for the list of topics addressed there.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: To join the discussion, register into the GBIF community site and become member of the ‘biodiversity data publishing interest group’ (please find the link in the resources section below).
Number of participants and target audience:
21 people from 7 countries/organisations: Belgium (3 people), Cameroon, Canada, Colombia, Germany, United Kingdom (4 people) and United States (9 people).
Staff members of GBIF Nodes, biodiversity data managers and publishers, biodiversity informaticians.
