2011 Biodiversity Data Analysis and Use Workshop by GBIF France

Description of the event:
This workshop, named “Utilisation et Analyse des Données sur la Biodiversité” is focused on giving the participants an overview of the different ways to access GBIF-mediated data (highlighting the role of the GBIF Data Portal), and the different possible uses of such data. As an example of biodiversity data analysis, an introduction to ecological niche modelling techniques will be part of the course. This workshop will have a regional component with participants from Belgium and Switzerland.

Number of participants and target audience:
20 people. Researchers, publishers, and others in charge of organising Biodiversity Information Networks. Scientists or technicians with a significant background and experience in biological and biodiversity sciences, and in the use and management of digital biodiversity data and GIS tools (such as ESRI software, DIVA-GIS, GV-SIG, etc).
