Second National Meeting about Biodiversity Data Sharing in Benin
Description of the event:
The GBIF node in Benin held its first meeting in April 2010, that resulted in the national herbarium of the country engaging to provide about 10000 records of digitalized primary data and metadata. Besides, surveys on biodiversity holders and users will be carried out until March 2011.
After these preparatory steps, GBIF Benin wants to bring together all the relevant national stakeholders in the field of biodiversity to sign a national agreement on biodiversity data sharing. An additional primary objective is to promote the usefulness of biodiversity data sharing, and to benefit from a rich exchange of experiences with partners from the region (Togo and Burkina Faso, mainly).
Number of participants and target audience:
102 people.
Data holders and users from institutions, NGOs, any other associations, privates, students, lecturers...
