The success of the GBIF Mentoring Programme in promoting and sharing capacity among the GBIF Participant Nodes is reflected in the reports from some of the recent GBIF Mentoring Projects.
The 2009 Mentoring Project between Belgium (BeBIF) and the Mauritanian National Node led to the launch of the Mauritanian Data Portal (MDP), an increased collaboration between Belgium and Mauritania, as well as the organisation of a National Workshop.
The 2010 Mentoring Project between GBIF France and GBIF Togo included activities such as the organisation of sectoral Nodes and the mobilisation of data and data providers.
A report from a training event held in the context of the project is available from the News and Events section, and the final report from the Project can be accessed through the Online Resource Centre.
In 2011, the project between ETI Bioinformatics and UgaBIF resulted in the launch of the UgaBIF BioPortal, as well as training of staff members in both Copenhagen and Uganda.
