Republic of Congo is new GBIF Participant

The Republic of Congo (ROC) has become the latest country to sign the GBIF Memorandum of Understanding on free and open access to biodiversity data.

The GBIF community has been pleased to welcome the Republic of Congo (ROC) as the latest associate participant in the global network.

The GBIF Secretariat has received the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) from the ROC government, covering its participation up to the end of 2011. In addition, the Republic of Congo has also signed the new MoU, starting in 2012 and continuing for an open-ended period.

With the Republic of Congo's participation, the total number of GBIF participants is now 104; 57 country participants and 47 other participants (organizations and economies).
