Abstract: The key outcomes of this mentoring project include an initial diagnosis of the biodviersity collections status, strengthening of the Chilean capabilities for managing a national network of occurrences and capacity building through training in GBIF standards and protocols, data portal of Chile installed on servers of Ministry of Environment, and a manual of best practices for developing and managing IT for the management of specimens’ data.
