Towards establishing a functional GBIF Participant Node
This document is the first of a series about how to establish and maintain a GBIF Participant Node. This one focuses on the concept of a Participant Node as a Biodiversity Information Facility (BIF), as well as on the key features and conditions to facilitate a successful implementation for the Participant Node. The emphasis of the document is on the organisational and sociological aspects to take into consideration prior to the establishment of the Node, rather than on the technical or more practical ones (those will be addressed in other documents as part of this series).
