Field Notes

Tree to 4 m tall with very short yellowish leaves due to tree being in poor condition because of very wet habitat. Cones very samall - 1 x 1 cm Growing on top of small clump of Blechnum chilense in boggy site with Gunnera tinctoria, Drimys winteri and Luma apiculata. Habitat in open area (break in riverside closed-forest) with scattered trees of Prumnopitys andina, with Podocarpus salignus, Austrocedrus chilensis and Nothofagus dombeyi

Remarks

Total size of this population is not known but an estimate of 100 mature trees has been made
