The 17th meeting of the GBIF Governing Board (GB17) took place in Suwon, Republic of Korea on 12 and 14 October 2010.

31 countries, 7 international organisationis as well as observers participated in the meeting, making the total no. of attendees 96.

In connection with the Governing Board meeting, the annual Science Symposium was held with the theme 'Trans-boundary Conservation Areas, Biodiversity Conservation and Peace Parks'.

A number of GBIF committee meetings also took place in Suwon.
