
On Tuesday 8 December GBIF convened a joint side event at COP15 together with Bioversity International.
Building the Global Biodiversity Information Commons for Climate Change Adaptation
On Tuesday evening, 8 December, GBIF and Bioversity International convened an official side event at COP15 on the importance of biodiversity and international cooperaton in informatics and science within the context of climate change adaptation, agriculture and food security.
The event was well attended by more than 100 people.
Opening presentations were made by Dr Nick King, Executive Secretary, GBIF and Dr Toby Hodgkin, Director, Bioversity International.

Following the presentations was a panel discussion facilitated by Dr Sybille van den Hove. Panellists were:

- Toby Hodgkin, Director, Bioversity International
- Nick King, Executive Secretary, GBIF
