Following the call in November 2009 for submission by GBIF Participants of proposals to enable them to connect their metadata catalogues to the GBIF network, nine awards have been issued.
The recipients are:
- Secrétariat Permanent du Conseil National pour l’Environnement et le Développement Durable, Burkina Faso
- Instituto de Investigaciones Ambientales del Pacifico, Colombia
- DanBIF, Denmark
- Finnish Museum of Natural History, Finland
- National Biodiversity Data Centre, Ireland
- Global Mountain Biodiversity Assessment, Austria
- ETI BioInformatics / NLBIF, Netherlands
- Ocean Biogeographic Information System, USA
- Endangered Wildlife Trust, South Africa
The catalogues developed by the awardees will be among the first to be linked up to the GBIF network and accessible through the GBIF metadata portal which aims to provide a virtual unified catalogue of all metadata from participating organisations.
