
Group convened to prepare GBIF position paper on Vocabularies/Ontologies.
GBIF is pleased to announce that in response to the call for proposals to develop a position paper on enabling a shared infrastructure for the development, maintenance and governance of vocabularies and ontologies for biodiversity informatics (see http://www.gbif.org/communications/news-and-events/showsingle/article/request-for-proposals-for-a-position-paper-on-vocabularies/), a team led by Bob Morris (UMASS-Boston, Harvard University Herbaria & Plazi Verein) has been awarded the contract. The other team members are: Terry Catapano (Columbia University, & Plazi Verein), Donald Hobern (Atlas of Living Australia), Hilmar Lapp (National Evolutionary Synthesis Center), Norman Morrison (NERC Environmental Bioinformatics Centre, & University of Manchester), Natasha Noy (Stanford University, Mark Schildauer (National Center for Ecological Synthesis and Analysis), David Thau (Google).
